Would be awesome if blog entries all had links at the bottom for

del.icio.us, digg, facebook, stumble upon, emailing (am i missing anything?)

small thing - but critical for building readership and page views.

ok, i've 'implemented' (ie: hard-coded) it in for me using this button:

http://www.addthis.com

if you're happy using that button instead of maintaining all the seperate buttons you'd need yourself, then i'll go ahead and implement it properly and submit the changes to you. Just let me know.

Its funny I just came across addthis.com the other day (saw it on TechCrunch) and was thinking the same thing. Thats definitely the easiest way to implement it and they can keep up with new services so we don't have to.

I'll implement this today as it looks like low hanging fruit. Seems it can be used on any page too, not just the blog.

I implemented an AddThisButton and used it in the blog. I've created a site setting for the addthis account and it can also be overridden in the blog settings in case you have multiple bloggers with different accounts.

The control can also be used in layout.master so it appears on every page of the site so that even non-blog pages can be social bookmarked.

As you can see now on this site.

The new code will be in svn trunk by tonight.

Awesome!

Any chance you can create an optional site setting for the whole addthis.com code block (not just the user account)? Since you can choose different addthis button styles, and even customise the button (which i have done) it would make it very flexible.

I added support for all the customization features to the control, see my blog post here. I added module settings to the blog so you can specify settings and the blog will assign it to the control.
