Hi Mari,

I'm guessing you have a connectivity problem with your email server. The Registration page could be configured to send an email to an administrator or the person registering or both. If the email server isn't available and the server is configured for a long time-out period this would make the registration slow. 

We have plans to queue all emails and have them sent on separate threads so issues like this don't cause sites to slow down.
