Deleted Content in Search Results

Just getting started - I created some content and later deleted it.

It continued to show up in search results when I entered specific words from the content.

After searching the forum I tried deleting the index folder and then I initiated a new search.

This worked.

Is this the only way to clear deleted content from search results?

Thanks!

Re: Deleted Content in Search Results

No. Deleting content should also result in deleting the search result.

Is this reproducable? If you can tell me step by step how to reproduce this symptom I'll investigate it.

Is it possible you have 2 machines or 2 installations using the same db? If one site deletes its it will still be in the index of a different site using the same db.

Re: Deleted Content in Search Results

Thanks, that was quick.

I forgot to say that I was using MS SQL Server 2005 on my XP Professiontal laptop with localhost and XP Pro IIS Admin

I always wish I would document the steps I take but I always forget.  I'm not sure exactly what I did. I'll try it again and soon I'll try it on the leased 2003 Web Server  I have access to.  If  it  happens  again,  I'll let  you  know.

Just seeing your response (and so quickly) was encouraging.

Thanks again!
