MSSQL2016 and LDAP

Hello,

We are looking into going with a .NET platform for our Intranet, and I have used MojoPortal before.

My two questions are:

Can we used MSSQL 2016 with MojoPortal?  We are working to upgrade most of our databases to 2016 so I was wondering.  I saw 2005 and 2008 listed, but wasn't sure about 2016.

Also, if we tie LDAP into MojoPortal, will it bring along any roles or groups?  For instance, if we have users in certain groups in Active Directory, will it be possible to bring those across?  My thought is for content viewing.  We may have one AD group viewing certain pages and another AD group viewing different pages.  Rather than setting each user up individually in the system, could we do a batch like setup for roles with this.

I appreciate the help!

Re: MSSQL2016 and LDAP

ms sql 2016 should work fine

with ldap auth a "SiteUser" will be created automatically in the database the first time the user authenticates.

there is no access to ldap/AD roles or groups, mojoportal uses its own roles internally, so once SiteUsers are created you would have to add those users to roles within mojoportal to control their access

see also the documentation

Re: MSSQL2016 and LDAP

Thanks Joe!  I really appreciate the information.  I was sad to see the product isn't in active development anymore, but I am glad you have worked up to this point to make it what it is!

Thanks again.
