Hi,
Is it possible to do any simple messaging functionality... like Facebook.
To allow users to have a place where they can leave messages back and forth. It would be open not private and simple, no complex images, uploads etc.
Is there a way to repurpose the Forum module? or the Blog module? It would seem to me that the Forum module has the basic functionality for creating a thread, then people can leave messages back and forth. Got any thoughts or ideas?
How about a 3rd party plug-in type app?
I know that there is no new development on mojoPortal, that is why I ask can we repurpose an existing feature or module?

I think you should be able to use the Forum for this. The best thing to do is try it out and see if it will meet your needs. Really, what you're describing is the Forum anyway.

Is it possible to change the interface a bit? Like get rid of the lines, Threads or Posts columns. Just to make it a little less formal or office like... more friendly? What style file would I start looking at?

I have another issue with the Forum module that I hope you can help me with.
I have turned Link Gravatar to user profile? = OFF yet my gravatar still shows on each entry of the Forum.
I would like to turn off the signature that shows up under the Gravatar also.
Where can I find the config file variables for the Forum so I can play with turning things off and on to adjust the look & feel?
