2 Different skins for drop down menus and website

2 Different skins for drop down menus and website

Hello,

I am really new at this, so please excuse my ignorance. A friend of mine asked if I can help re-design her web site so that it can have drop down menus. I have done a bit of research and found that there is a way it can be done. Apparently, you can have 2 different skins; one for the website and one for the menu bar. This being said, how do I go about changing skins?

Here is the information I have:

I have access to all the files using an FTP program.
The current skin for the website is art42-businessblue2.

Hi Chris,

You can have dropdown menus but you cannot have one skin for the menu and another for the site. Where did you find that information?

You're in luck that the art42-businessblue2 skin supports dropdown menus out of the box. All you need to do is create (or move) pages under top level pages and the dropdowns will automatically work. There's an old video on this page which shows how to move pages around. If you want a nicer page manager, consider supporting the project by purchasing Page Manager Pro.

So I assigned parents and child pages to the entire site and the dropdown menus still don't work. However, when I go to the skin management tool, and preview a different skin it works fine. I'm starting to think the last developer that worked on this disabled it somehow in the actual code.
