Mobile Kit Pro 2.1 – Log4net – Could not load 1.2.11.0 Exception Error

Hi Joe

We are in the process of carrying out upgrades to 2.4.0.7.  As part of this I have created a clean mojoPortal 2.4.0.7 installation on a Windows Web Server 2008 R2 SP1 (.Net 4.5.1, MSSQL Express 2012 SP2).  This also has Site Membership Pro 1.0.1.7, Form Wizard Pro 2.6.1.9 and Event Calendar Pro 3.4.2.0 installed.

If I change the mobile skin for the site away from the site default (currently set to art42-wallpaper) to i7MEDIA-mobile1 and then view the site on a mobile device, I receive the server error below “System.IO.FileLoadException: Could not load file or assembly 'log4net, Version=1.2.11.0”.

The log4net.dll in the site bin folder is showing version 1.2.13.0

Do you have any thoughts on how I can resolve this?  (I am also experiencing this problem on another server with the same config but using our own skins. I cannot reproduce the problem on the demo site though.)

Hi Neil,

I've just uploaded version 2.2 of Mobile Kit which should fix this. Only the dll file has changed, it has been re-compiled against the newer version of log4net that is included with mojoPortal.

Hi Neil,

In follow up, you may want to hold off on the upgrade for production for a few days. Some recent problems with the newer version of AjaxControlToolkit have surfaced and it seems that the only way to fix it is going to be to go back to the version we were using before this release. So I will be making another release of mojoPortal, Event Calendar Pro, Form Wizard Pro, and Web Invoice Pro within the next few days. Since those all use ajaxcontroltoolkit, they all need to use the same version so I will have to update them all at the same time.

Can anyone offer an explaination/fix as I just installed 2.4.0.9 and everything appeared ok till I sparked up my mobile and got the following:

you need to install the newer version of Mobile Kit Pro. click "My Account" at the top of the page, then click "Order History", you can download the latest version from there.
