Lost formatting or skins after upgrade to version 2.3.9.7

I upgraded my site to version 2.3.9.7 following the instructions as outlined in the documentation.  Afterwards the website had no formatting other than basic HTML formatting (i.e. bold text, fonts, etc.).  The images are missing and anything that would resemble a skin is not being displayed.  I restored the old site back and verified that it worked properly then tried the install again just to rule out the possibility that I had missed a step in the instructions.  I have left the site in the upgraded but diminished functional state in order to allow for better diagnostics.

Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The functionality of the application is all there and I have printed the system information below.

Re: Lost formatting or skins after upgrade to version 2.3.9.7

Ok, I figured it out.  It turns out that the skin I had selected apparently was not available.  I navigated to the site admin page and selected another skin and viola! the site looks normal, albeit with a different skin.

Re: Lost formatting or skins after upgrade to version 2.3.9.7

We never touch any of the site skins during an upgrade so if you have a missing skin it isn't something deleted by the upgrade. We update skins under /Data/skins but skins used by the site are under /Data/Sites/[SiteID]/skins and those are never touched during upgrade.

However your old skin probably does need to updated as documented in the Important Skin Changes article.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Joe,

That took care of it.  Thanks so much for your help.

I was looking at the options to contribute and often thought about clicking the "buy me a beer" link but I'm opposed to the consumption of alcohol so how about you agree to buy a slice of pizza with my contribution in stead. smiley

Thanks again.
