Hiding content in Admin

Hi there,

I have elements on my layout.master that I need to hide when i don't have Alt1 and Alt2 content or while in Admin pages and Login/Logout.

I have noticed that you do this for your Alt1 and Alt2 elements as they are not rendered if empty.

How can I add a condition to verify if I have Alt1 or Alt2 content as not to render my elements aswell?

Best regards.

João
