I am probably looking in the wrong places but I can't find information on how to turn of the question mark shown under each blog post and the posted by information.

Is there any way to not show it without hardcoding it in the css files?

I hadn't even checked on the post level and those theme.skin settings didn't seem to work at first but now after giving it another try they work fine.

Can I add a feature request to this post:

Moving those settings to the global blog settings so that they don't need to be checked for every post OR adding a setting to the theme.skin to hide the author name from each post OR being able to select a default value for those checkboxes somewhere.
