Page Content Layout

Hi Joe,

I had a quick question that I couldn't find an answer to in the documentation: I've edited a layout.master file in a skin to essentially be a one-column design. I commented out the ContentPlaceHolder controls in the left and right panes, but I noticed that when I go into the page content layout section in Admin, I still see the option to place content in those panes.

While I suppose I could comment them out with CSS since each pane has a unique class (though I don't see how this would help eliminate the option in the location dropdown), I was wondering if there was something I could do (or am not doing) to hide content panes I don't plan on using so they don't appear in this admin section. I'm just concerned another admin user making edits would get confused.

Thank you. As always, Evolve Creative Group greatly appreciates your time.

Re: Page Content Layout

Since mojoPortal is designed to automatically adapt the layout to the panels where users put content instances we don't have a way to hide the available panels from users who can edit.

Re: Page Content Layout

One thing you could do is remove the user from page edit roles and add him only to the content instance edit roles from Settings of the feature instance. If you don't want him adding new content instances on the page but want him to be able to edit the instances you put there that is the way I would do it.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Thanks, Joe! I'll give that a try.
