Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

Hi,

It does not crash for me using the .artx file that you emailed to me, it exported just fine on my machine.

Possibly it is a bug in Artisteer related to CurrentCulture: tr-TR / Turkish (Turkey)

Best,

Joe

Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

I have no idea. Do you get an error if you export it using other plugins?

As I said it does not cause an error on my system so it doesn't seem like something I can fix.

Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

Same problem here I'm afraid.

My colleague had it giving the error when trying to export from his laptop; he's been using this to generate Artisteer 4.1 skins for some time and swears that nothing has changed/been installed etc.

When I tried to load the artisteer file on my desktop machine it complained that I had old version of Artisteer so I upgraded to 4.1, downloaded & installed the mojoportal exporter for 4.1.  Now my desktop machine gives the same problem.  I also get the error if I just fire-up Artisteer create a new (un-tampered with) template and export.

I don't get the problem if I export to Blogger, DNN etc, or do a generic website export.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ian

Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

Artisteer provides a set of tests for plugin developers and our plugin passes all the tests and no errors happen on my machines using the plugin so I'm not sure why some people encounter this problem.

I know of someone else who had this problem and they contacted Artisteer for support and were provided with an updated build of Artisteer that solved the problem. I would suggest that anyone else who encounters this problem do the same thing and contact Artisteer support.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

Just to let you know that I've reported my problem (in detail, with attachments) to Artisteer and they've been no help whatsoever.  Can you give any details of the person who got the fixed build, because this is becoming a real pain for us!

I've pasted the thread from the Artisteer site below - attachments available on request!

Case Id 133915
Type Bug/Issue
Status Waiting for Support
Summary Error when exporting
Description CMS used: MojoPortal

I had been using Artisteer 4.0 with no problems, and using the Mojoportal Artisteer Skin exporter for 4.0.

I then upgraded to Artisteer 4.1 and tried to use the Artisteer Skin Exporter for 4.1 (attached), but it fails giving the attached error message.
This happens even with an unmodified artisteer design.
I've attached the one that I've been using, which is still pretty unmodified.

I raised a query on the MojoPortal support site but it seems that the problem is not common to everybody and teh plugin (attached) passes all your tests.
Here's a reference to the forum containing our query.

http://www.mojoportal.com/Forums/Thread.aspx?pageid=5&t=11332~1

The exporter does seem to work on some of our older artx files so it seems to perhaps be a problem with newly created ones.

This is obviously a showstopper for us so any quick help you can give would be greatly appreciated, and there are many other in the MojoPortal community who may also benefit.

Thanks

Ian

Response Hi Ian,

Mojoportal plug-in was created by some third-party developers, but not by Artisteer team.
Therefore we don't provide support on it.
Please contact Mojoportal support for more information on the issue.

Response Hi Elvira,

The Mojoportal plug-in checks OK in your checker software, and the export works OK for some people so they've correctly directed me back to you.

I was told that others have had the same problem and you were able to send them a fix - is that correct?

Thanks

Ian

Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

Hi Ian,

I've emailed the person who previously was helped with this problem by Artisteer with a link to this thread asking him if he can be of any help. Maybe if he can provide the ticket number where they helped him it might trigger them to help you if they can see that the problem has come up before and been solved on their end.

Best,

Joe

Re: mojoPortalSkinExporter41

Hi, all. I had a similar problem and reported it to Artisteer support. They were quick in replying with an unofficial build of Artisteer that solved my problem. Since it's unofficial, I don't feel comfortable releasing it into the wild. Notwithstanding licensing concerns, since I don't know the cause and resolution of the problem, I wouldn't want to cause any additional problems if your problem isn't exactly the same as mine taking into account different versions of the OS, Artisteer, MojoPortal, etc.

I will provide my Artisteer support case number in hopes that someone reporting the same error can reference it and get a quick resolution.

My case number is 130840 and I was given build 4.1.0.60046 on 4/10/13. Good luck!
