Re: .NET 4.5 - anyone tried 4.5.1?

We have been putting off upgrading our production server to .net 4.5 because it actually keeps stalling when we try for some reason.  But we've reached the point where we really need to as there are too many users having issues with the IE10 bug and now IE11 seems to stop some users even logging it!

So, we need to bite the bullet and I wondered if it was worth trying .net 4.5.1 now that it's out?  We may have more luck installing it so if it'll also run mojo fine then that seems the most sensible way to go.

Anyone tried it?

Re: .NET 4.5

I would expect no problem running the mojoPortal .NET 4 packages under .NET 4.5.1 but have not tried it yet.

I did a quick google for ".NET 4.5.1 problem" to see if anyone is having problems with it and found a link about the 4.x framework installation stalling which may be relevant to solving what you encountered with .NET .4.5.

The google results also show some people having IE 11 problems even with .NET 4.5.1.

I have not had IE 11 problems using any fully patched installation of .NET 4.5 but have seen problems on servers that don't have all the windows updates.

Re: .NET 4.5

Thanks Joe,

We went for it and now that 4.5.1 is installed everything seems to work ok.  The things that we noticed were not working with IE10 and 11 now seem ok (e.g. one of our sites could not even be logged in to under IE11).  We did have issues with the 4.5.1 installer getting stuck though, which we'd also had with 4.5 and was the reason it never got installed.  We finally resolved the installation issue by following the steps in this post:- :- http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/62dd4456-e841-4623-8b40-cf1b35a8aedf/installer-hanging-during-net-45-framework-install?forum=vssetup

Hope it helps anyone else having the same problem!
