Changes from 2.3.6.6 to 2.3.9.3 ???

Hi Jo,

I looked into "Important Skin Changes" but do not found something about my problem.

There are two identical sites:

  1. http://meissle.nett.de/
  2. http://www.rainer-meissle.de/
  • Both uses the same mySql-database
  • Both are on the same server
  • The skin was created in Artisteer 3 and was not changed since then,
that is they have the same skin files

The only difference:

  1. 2-3-6-6
  2. 2-3-9-3

Please have a look at the menu.
Can you tell me why the styles are different?

Best
Matthias

Re: Changes from 2.3.6.6 to 2.3.9.3

Hi Matthias,

I tried your skin on my machine and it does not have the problem that I see on your site, it works correctly here. Are you using .NET 4 or .NET 3.5 medium trust?

There can be problems under .NET 3.5 medium trust as discussed on the bottom of tha rticle Understanding the theme.skin file

On your broken site if you view the source of the page you will se that the menu markup is not correct for Artisteer, if you compare it to the working site you will see what it should render as. This is controlled by the theme.skin file.

You may need to copy the theme.skin file from the skin folder into /App_Themes/Default and you will not be able to use more than one skin in the installation if they require different theme.skin settings.

Under .NET 4 there should not be any problem, this problem should only happen under .NET 3.5 with medium trust.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Changes from 2.3.6.6 to 2.3.9.3

Hi Jo,

many thanks!

I have not yet understood anything, but I've copied the theme.skin file from the skin folder into /App_Themes/Default, and it does work! Now I'm going to read everything about this file and maybe I have the nerve to take the opportunity and try to switch to ASP.Net 4 as you suggest already 12 month ago :-)) http://www.mojoportal.com/Forums/Thread.aspx?pageid=5&t=9298~1

Cheers Matthias

P.S.: <add key="RunningInMediumTrust" value="false"/> Which "trust" is default?
