How to make default forum look pretty and properly formatted?

The default forum layout doesn't look pretty and things are misaligned such as total post count are not centered. Where do I start making changes to how it looks? I opened ForumView.aspx file but that doesn't let me customize layout. Basically, how would I make it look like Mojo forum? Thank you!

Re: How to make default forum look pretty and properly formatted?

You should not modify mojoPortal code or markup in .aspx pages, that is forking the code and should be avoided.

Every style thing is done by css and theme.skin settings, you can easily study the css used on this site. This site is using only the default forum display settings so its only css that makes this site forums look the way they do.

look for the styleforum.css in your skin folder

Thanks Joe! I added that style and most pages are ok, with the exception of Thread.aspx page. This is what it looks. Is there an easy fix for this?

Re: How to make default forum look pretty and properly formatted?

Hi,

I just uploaded a new copy of the skin which has fixes for this and a few other small issues. If you download again from codeplex, you should be good to go.

Thanks,
Joe D.

Just tried it, the name of the poster has disappeared with this update though. Btw, I am replacing only styleforum.css. Perhaps I need to replace anything else? This is what it looks now:

Hi,

The issue you are running into seems to be because of the width of "postright", bring that width down until it fits your design.

Beautiful! Thank you! It's always something easy, but takes forever to find it :)
