  • What operating system were you running when the bug appeared?
  • What database platform is your site using?
  • What version of mojoPortal are you running?
  • What version of .NET do you use?
  • What steps are necessary to reproduce the issue? Compare expected results vs actual results.

Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Deployment, Version=9.0.0.0

 

Hi everyone:

I cannot install mojoPlatform.

The environment:

OS Windows 7 Pro 64 bit.
DB Sql Server Express 2008R2
mojoPortal version 2.3.7.0 for .NET 4.0 MS SQL

The problem:

When I tried to install mojoPlatform using the Web Platform Installer, right after clicking "I Accept" to accept the license for mojoPortal 2.3.7.0 for .NET 4.0 MS SQL, IIS crashed.  The error message in the event view included "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Web.Deployment, Version=9.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Sure enough, all I find in the GAC areMicrosoft.Web.Deployment v. 7.1.00 and v. 8.0.0.0.

When I followed the link from http://www.mojoportal.com/installing-mojoportal-using-the-web-platform-installer.aspx to get the Web Platform Installer, v. 4.0 was downloaded and installed.  I had an earlier version on my pc (3) but it was replaced by v 4 during installation.  I am wondering whether I have to go back to an earlier version of the Web Platform Installer.  I tried to find the newer version of Microsoft.Web.Deployment somewhere for download but that didn't pan out.  I have already spent over 3 hours on this and am getting nowhere - if anyone can help I would appreciate it, otherwise I guess I try installing without the platform installer.
