Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

Maybe for testing just switch first on the clear Artisteer skin if it works and your own skin doesn't you will have to find the difference.

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

Thanks for Tips.

1. I deleted all Skins in my Installation \data\sites\1\skins.
2. New installed the Update 3.8.5. (Database Modifications OK)
3. Then installed Extra-Skins.

When i see Preview the Skins, all Aristeer Skins (Grennlagon, 2.4, 3.0, 3.1) not correctly the Menus.
Allmost verticaly, not Topmenu, not Horizontalmenu.

Can it be that the problem lies not in skins but in the database ?
The Original Templates/Skins must work ?

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

I think the database doesn't influence the skins.

What about web.config? Don't you use the old one from the old version of mojoportal?

I am sorry I don't give you tany solutions - I just write what I suspect - where the bug may be.

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

Hello tomzi, thanks.

the Web.config is from 3.8.5, in this I entered my changes (SSL, Machinekey and SMTP-Server). Its OK.

I wonder why not work for me the original skins, or where the cause is.

Thanks for Help !

Maybe check in the page source if all the .css and .js are linked correctly

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

In the web browser there is an option to show the page source - when you click the right button on the page - you should have such possibility. When you see it just check all the links to the .js and .css  files if they point correctly

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

i not found a problem in the website Sourcecode.

I repeated the following:

1. Delete "\data\skins\*" and "\data\sites\skins\*"
2. Copy the Version 3.8.5 in the root www folder.
3. Update Database and Filesecurity (OK)
4. Copy "\data\skins\*" to "\data\sites\skins\*"

Then tested all 78 original Skins from this Installsource.
All "Artisteer-Based" and the "i7media-whiteblue" not functions, all other OK.
My old Skin based on a Artisteer Template this does not work.

Have unfortunately no more idea.
But I think the problem is not with the skins, but in the website settings ?

Weinend

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

Maybe the best way is the way of eliminating possible sources of the bug.

1. Try to make a new instalation of mojoportal.

2. If the Artisteer skins work switch it to your database.

3. If the skins still work copy your skin folder from the present site and make the skin default.

Re: Update from 3.7.0 to 3.8.5 - Problem with Skins and Menus

Hi,

Are you hosted under .NET 3.5 medium trust?

If so then it cannot load the theme.skin file from the skin folder, see the notes about it at the bottom of the article Understanding the theme.skin file.

Best solution is to use .NET 4 hosting and use the .NET 4 package of mojoPortal.

Hope that helps,

Joe
