How to change the width of a Banner?

Hi,

I have created a skin using Artisteer 3.1 and imported into my web site.  Now I would like to fine tune the look and I would like to experiment with adjusting the width and heith of the Banner across the top of my page.

I know I can add the lines to the style-artisteer-overrides.css but I am not sure what lines?

On Artisteer there are 2 settings for the Top Banner = sheet or page width but have been unable to locate these lines.

Thanks

Re: How to change the width of a Banner?

I have noticed that the Banner image size in Artisteer is not quite the same when inserted into a mojoPortal site.  In Artisteer its more of the original complete image squeezed down into the same or a smaller frame.

I have tried several settings and I can get the image bigger but it just expands to the right not re-centering.

Re: How to change the width of a Banner?

Phill,

How Artisteer handles the graphics for your header can vary, based on what shape you've chosen. If you're using curves, it'll create the background part of the banner, and then the foreground, which is the part in the center. If it's a matter of the size of the banner you're inserting, there is a setting in Artisteer to scale the header size.

Re: How to change the width of a Banner?

Hi Indigo Tea,

Thanks for the come-back.  I am using Artiseer and exporting to HTML before inserting into mojoPortal.

I am not sure what you by "If your using curves"???

The web site I am having the isseu with is www.SeamanMarineSoftware.com where you will see that tha banner is the usual/normal/ predefined size.  What I would like to do is stretch the banner image wider by about 20%, or there abouts!

I am not sure how it got there but there is another banner behind this one.  It is a Red block, on the actual site I simpley went to the images folder and deleted the image names Header and is a red bannor.  That worked fine but how do I get to it in Artisteer?  I'd like to send you the artx file if it helps?

Thanks

Re: How to change the width of a Banner?

Artisteer splits the header image up into a foreground and a background; the image you deleted that had the red block was probably the header.png that has the borders of the header image, and the header.jpg has the main body. I believe the original reason for that was to allow for curved corners on the header image, while maintaining a smaller file size overall.

In order to increase the width of the header, you'll need to increase the width of the sheet as well, or place the header outside the sheet using the Artisteer placement options.
