Move a site

Im about to move my current mojo site to a new server and it failed for me...

I have moved the database and set up a new site under IIS.

Is there just to copy all the files and it should work?

Or should i make a clean install and then move the files?

´Thanks

Re: Move a site

All the advice I have is in the article Moving an Installation of mojoPortal to a Different Server.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Move a site

Have you confirmed the .Net version settings of the new site in IIS?

Re: Move a site

Checked the ASP and the versiobn was the same on the new server as on the old one. But saw on the new 2008 server that i could choose classic in the ASP settings and now things seems to work again.

Thanks!!

Re: Move a site

The DotNetOpenAuth.dll is used for openid authentication but it doesn't work in medium trust, you can safely delete that dll from the /bin folder

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Move a site

I did a change under ASP setting and now got it working.

But I realised my site is kinda slow now. Takes forever to post a bloggpost with text if its even working. Is there any settings for this?

Re: Move a site

Most likely problem is something about your hosting like insufficient memory which can make the application pool recycle constantly and cause bad performance.

I would look in the mojoPortal log and see if it shows any related errors or if it is logging application start and and application end events too frequently. If those events are logged a lot it means you are in a low memory environment aka cheap hosting with not enough resources available.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Move a site

Im running the site at home on a brand new machine.- Quad Core 3Ghz with 8Gb Ram.

The site was faster on my old system.

How do I find those logs? Maybe its some trimming on the SQL part?
