Mobile Menu vs. Web menu

I have the mobile kit installed and there are pages on my site that I do not include on the menu.  Now I know there is a check box for "include in menu" on page settings.

I have certain instances where I would like to not include it in the web menu but I do want to include it in the mobile menu.  THe catch is I do not want to create two instances of the content.

For example I have a blog and I do not include it in the menu because i created an icon that I link off of.  Now because it is not in the menu it is also not on the mobile site unless I create a html region that has a link to it which I do not want to do.

is there a checkbox I am missing that says "include in mobile menu"?

Is this possible?

Re: Mobile Menu vs. Web menu

There is a dropdown list in Page Settings for Publish mode, with choices All, Web Only, or Mobile Only.

There is a similar setting also in feature instance settings.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: Mobile Menu vs. Web menu

thanks Joe,  I adjusted those settings and I just need a little clarification.

Lets say the page is published to MOBILE and WEB with the setting "ALL".

Now lets say I only want the page link to show up in the mobile menu and be hidden in the web menu.

Is that possible?

Thanks

Re: Mobile Menu vs. Web menu

If you want it only in the mobile Menu then set it for Mobile Only and set Include In Menu to checked. All this setting does is control whether it is in the menu, it isn't a security setting, people can still access the page by direct url no matter the publish mode. Setting it to Mobile Only will not prevent users from accessing the page in normal web browsers, so if your main skin has an icon with a link that is still going to work.

Hope that helps,

Joe
