Google Webmaster Tools Reporting SiteMap.ashx as an error?

Google Webmaster Tools Reporting SiteMap.ashx as an error?

Hi guys,

In the process of submitting SiteMap.ashx using the Google Webmaster Tools, the Tools reports the .ashx file as a "web document" (at least, I think that's the terminology they used...), and says that is an error. This seems to run contrary to the documentation here and the online help in mojoPortal itself. Anyone else run across this, and what did you do to overcome it?

Hi Duane,

Make sure you test the url you enter for your site map to make sure it is returning xml data of your site map. Note that if you enter the url incorrectly it will get the page not found page which is just html and would cause this. My guess is that you are entering the url incorrectly.

Well, very odd; I ended up having to enter the same URL 4 times, via cut and paste, before it worked... What can I say?? :)
