facebook like button

I recently installed mojoportal.  I added a blog with the facebook like button.  When I click the like button it says error.  Do I need to configure something?  I tried searching for this error with no success.

Is your site on a public facing server?

It isn't going to work on localhost because localhost urls are not accessible on the internet so they cannot be liked on facebook.

It is on the net.  I get the same thing when I click on the like button on this sites blog entries.  Here is the error if you click the error link.

 

You must specify a URL as part of this widget or API.

We are passing the url and it was working until recently so I can only guess something is broken on their end. If you google for "Facebook like button broken" you'll see it has happened before.

When I get the current iframe plugin code from facebook it looks the same as what we have now so I don't think the implementation is broken, and if you view the source of the page you will see that we do in fact pass the url even though the error message is saying it is not being passed.

Well If I copy and paste the iframe  code from facebook into an html content it works.  It also appears to work for other modules.  It seems it is only broken for the blog module.

Hi Jimmy,

If I generate a like button using their like button generator page, and paste it into html view in the editor in an html content instance I get the same error when I click the like button.

The Community page on this site has a "Like Box" which is a different widget than the "Like button", so maybe the Like box is not broken but the Like button is broken.

So as far as I can tell their like button is broken at the moment and the problem is on their side. The iframe code is not missing in the blog, if you view the source of the page you can find it and it looks correct.

Your right.  It seems to work if you just use the domain name but doesn't if you add the page to the link. Yesterday I wasn't adding the page that is why I thought it was working.

Hi,

I have de same problem 2 months ago :( I was working right but not now before version update. :( It works fine in "Content html" modules but It doesn't work in blog entries :(
