Hide e-mail adress

Hallo,

I am new user of Mojo - and I will like to make a contact page, where there will be a lot of e-mail adresses. Can I somehow hide them/make somekind of security som spambots, not get and use the adresses.

I am thinking about someting like the i the top of the page you have to enter a securitycode from the image (Captia?) before you can se the adresses.

Or perhabs a link you can push to write a mail and the you go to a contact form - like the one there is made as a function in mojo - but where the form now the witch e-mail adress the messages is for - without useres/spambots sees the adress

Regards

Søren

Re: Hide e-mail adress

Hi Soren,

How many emails is a lot?

One solution would be to first create a Contact page and put an Html content feature on it. Then create child pages below it for each email address and add a Contact Form on the page configured to send to the specific email. You can use a captcha on the contact form to prevent spam bots.

Then go back to the Html content on the main contact page and link to each form without indicating the email, just use an alias like "Contact Sales", "Contact Support" or whatever and link to the child page that has the form.

Now after all that is done, optionally you can go to the page settings for each child page and un-check the "Include In Menu" if you don't want thos page in the menu but only want to link directly to them.

Another solution is to use just one contact form and the user chooses an email alias from a list. See this article:

http://www.mojoportal.com/using-the-contact-form.aspx

I think using forms like this is the best way for people to contact you without publishing your email address in a way that spammers will scrape it. But, there are also techniques of obfuscating email addresses in html.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Hide e-mail adress

Hi Søren, as Joe said, when you use the alias field in the contact form settings, the email address is never exposed on the site, and cannot be harvested by bots. We have switched all of the contact points on our web site to contact forms (they used to be mailto links on the old site). You can see how this looks in action on our City Council contact form.

Hey both

Thanks for the replys. It seems like a good solution with alias field - I will try to set that up...
