mojoPortal 2.3.5.8 .NET 3.5 Upgrade Issue

Hi Joe,

OS: Server 2008 (IIS 7)
DB: MSSQL 2008
.NET Ver: 3.5
I just upgraded two mP 2.3.5.5 sites to 2.3.5.8 but I am receiving the below error after upgrading:

System.Web.HttpParseException: Unknown server tag 'asp:ScriptManager'. ---> System.Web.HttpException: Unknown server tag 'asp:ScriptManager'.
   at System.Web.UI.TagPrefixTagNameToTypeMapper.System.Web.UI.ITagNameToTypeMapper.GetControlType(String tagName, IDictionary attribs)

   at System.Web.UI.MainTagNameToTypeMapper.GetControlType(String tagName, IDictionary attribs, Boolean fAllowHtmlTags)
   at System.Web.UI.RootBuilder.GetChildControlType(String tagName, IDictionary attribs)
   at System.Web.UI.ControlBuilder.CreateChildBuilder(String filter, String tagName, IDictionary attribs, TemplateParser parser, ControlBuilder parentBuilder, String id, Int32 line, VirtualPath virtualPath, Type& childType, Boolean defaultProperty)
   at System.Web.UI.TemplateParser.ProcessBeginTag(Match match, String inputText)

Any clues?

Thanks,
Joe

Re: mojoPortal 2.3.5.8 .NET 3.5 Upgrade Issue

Hi Joe,

Do you have this in the <pages><tagMapping section of Web.config:

<add tagType="System.Web.UI.ScriptManager" mappedTagType="AjaxControlToolkit.ToolkitScriptManager" />

if not add it if so try commenting it out

and make sure you uploaded the AjaxControlToolkit.dll version 3.5.40412.2 it should be in the /bin folder of the package

Thanks,

Joe

Re: mojoPortal 2.3.5.8 .NET 3.5 Upgrade Issue

you might also try uncommenting this

<!-- AJAX Extensions support
<add tagPrefix="asp" namespace="System.Web.UI" assembly="System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/>
<add tagPrefix="asp" namespace="System.Web.UI.WebControls" assembly="System.Web.Extensions, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31BF3856AD364E35"/>
-->

it was needed at one time but after a windows update not long ago it seemed to cause an error so I commented it out.

Re: mojoPortal 2.3.5.8 .NET 3.5 Upgrade Issue

Hi Joe,

I had the key in the tagMapping section and commenting it out did nothing.

The AJAX Extensions support section was commented out so I uncommented it and the site is working. I checked the old version (2.3.5.5) web.config and it was not commented out.

Thanks,
Joe D.

Re: mojoPortal 2.3.5.8 .NET 3.5 Upgrade Issue

Ok, I'll uncomment it and re-upload the 3.5 .NET packages. I would revert the commenting out of the tagMapping.

Thanks,

Joe
