Effiproz Support

Hi ... First of all, I like to say that mojoPortal is really amazing ...

I was wondering if you're planning to support Effiproz ... it looks really promissing ...

Regards,

JJ.

Re: Effiproz Support

Hi,

Never heard of Effiproz until now, is it a re-branding of VistaDB?

In any case, the answer is no we are not looking for more databases to support.

Best,

Joe

Re: Effiproz Support

Not many people know about Effiproz but if you look at:

http://effiproz.com/   and    http://effiproz.codeplex.com/

you will see how good is this database manager. I can see you like managed database (not p/invoke at all) and this is really good and fast (http://blog.effiproz.com/2010/09/effiproz-14-vs-sqlite-performance.html). It's pure C# code ...

What do you think?

Re: Effiproz Support

It is an interesting project, probably very appealing for mobile platform development, but it is not something I'm interested in for mojoPortal. We support enough databases already and don't plan to add any more especially less known databases and therefore less in demand for mojoPortal users.

People ask for Oracle and that is a very widely used platform that I do not plan to support so something less in demand is certainly not something I want to implement or maintain over time either.

Bottom line is I don't plan on adding support for any more database platforms for the foreseeable future.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Best,

Joe

Re: Effiproz Support

No problem ... It was only for your information and many other users. As you said, Effiproz is very appealing for mobile, and for desktop too. I can make my own changes, and adapt the code, I'll enjoy doing it.

Now that you know about it, is probable that you feel curious and explore it for any other project you may have.

Cheers,

Johnatan.
