Could not load file or assembly 'App_GlobalResources' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Hi

I am trying to deploy mojoportal on Go daddy. I have carefully followed all instructions as specified in the following link:

http://www.mojoportal.com/Forums/Thread.aspx?pageid=5&mid=34&ItemID=3&thread=2523&pagenumber=1

But I get the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Could not load file or assembly 'App_GlobalResources' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.IO.FileNotFoundException: Could not load file or assembly 'App_GlobalResources' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'App_GlobalResources' could not be loaded.

WRN: Assembly binding logging is turned OFF.
To enable assembly bind failure logging, set the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] (DWORD) to 1.
Note: There is some performance penalty associated with assembly bind failure logging.
To turn this feature off, remove the registry value [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog].

Hi,

Really those instructions are steering you in the wrong direction. There is no need to build from source code, just use the mojoportal deployment package for MS SQL (not source code), choose the right package depending on whether you have .NET 4 or .NET 3.5, and follow the medium trust instructions.

Typically you should install mojoPortal as a root site or in a virtual folder marked as an application directly below the root.

What you cannot do is install it in a sub folder and then use the crazy GoDaddy url forwarding or url masking or whatever they call it to make it seem like  a root site when it really isn't. That is not going to work with mojoPortal.

Hope it helps,

Joe
