Auto Create Users from LDAP and assign to roles

The ability to automatically create every mojo user based on an existing LDAP directory would be nice rather than waiting for each user to log in. This would allow us to setup roles for each user before they actually log in. While we're on the topic of assigning roles to users...it would also be nice to mass assign a lot of users to a role rather than doing so one by one.

Re: Auto Create Users from LDAP and assign to roles

My limited time will be applied to things that most users of mojoPortal need and things that will most rapidly increase the popularity of mojoPortal.

I can see a routine or utility to import ldap users would be helpful for some users of mojoPortal but I don't see myself working on that any time soon unless someone wants to sponsor the development financially. There are too many other things I can work on that will appeal to more users.

Of course one option is to implement this yourself and contribute it to the project.

Just out of curiosity, are you using mojoPortal with Active Directory or OpenLDAP?

Re: Auto Create Users from LDAP and assign to roles

Sure, no problem. Using OpenLDAP. I will look into implementing a utility to synchronize mojo users with LDAP. But, I agree that while nice since it's only a one time deal I wonder if it's worth the effort.  I understand you have limited time and don't expect feature requests to be implemented... just throwing ideas around. I am impressed with your fast response times on the forum. Although I am currently unable to help out financially I am more that willing to continue testing and contributing code to the project :-)
