Delicious widget

Would be nice to add Delicious widget (can see example at http://www.jmcpherson.org) with parameters like which tags or which tab bundles to show for a certain person

Re: Delicious widget

I will look into making a module for that, its a good idea and probably low hanging fruit.

Best,

Joe

Re: Delicious widget

Apart from web widgets that Delicious already offers (see link above for example), could also make your own based on the feeds reader I guess.

For example for user birbilis (http://www.delicious.com/birbilis), for the tag Robotics (http://www.delicious.com/birbilis/Robotics), the feed is:

http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/birbilis/robotics?count=15

(set to feed latest 15 items)

and for Robotics+Microsoft the page is:

http://delicious.com/birbilis/Robotics+microsoft

and the feed is:

http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/birbilis/Robotics+microsoft?count=15

So params the component would need would be USER (could be left empty to search all users) and a TAGS list (which the widget would concatenate with +) and a COUNT param too

NOTE: if user tag is left empty, the url should be something like:

http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/tag/Robotics?count=15

(and not http://feeds.delicious.com/v2/rss/Robotics?count=15 because that one shows the tags of the user called "Robotics" - there happens to be one btw - this just bit me and that's how I noticed the correct URL is with "/tag/" if one searches the top level [luckily Delicious guys thought about this possibility])

Re: Delicious widget

Also see the link "Add me to your network" at http://zoomicon.com - it uses the link http://delicious.com/network?add=birbilis to have the vistior-user add you (in this case add the account the bookmark-feed of which the suggested widget shows) to their delicious network. Also grab that "+" icon I have there - it's delicious' standard icon for this action

Make sure to also checkout their cool tools at:

esp. the Tagometer, Linkrolls and Tagrolls (=tag cloud)

Re: Delicious widget

I looked at all these Delicious widgets the other day and found that there is no real need to implement something for this because you can simply copy and paste the markup/javascript they provide into the Html view of the editor using the Html content feature.

Best,

Joe

Re: Delicious widget

indeed, depends though who your users are and if you want to allow them to add custom HTML to your portal
