host mulitple sites within folders and non default iis port number

I have install the mojo portal within IIS as a new web site using the same ip address as the default web site but it is using a different port number (http://192.168.11.29:8050/). This site is working fine no problem. I have also created three additional portals (using the folder method) through the main portal. The problem I am having is when I navigate to the other portal sites (http://192.168.11.29:8050/PICPortal) I get the following error:

--------------------

Server Error in '/' Application.
Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.Web.HttpException: Cannot use a leading .. to exit above the top directory.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

--------------------

Any suggestions on how to address this?

Re: host mulitple sites within folders and non default iis port number

Hi Brian,

I actually encountered this error yesterday and fixed it. I don't think its related to the port used. If I was not logged into the sub folder site it worked fine but when I logged in this error occurred. It had to do with an image url in the module title control for module settings.

Not 100% sure if its the same problem. Can you confirm if it works ok if you clear your cookies so you are not signed into the folder site?

Otherwise post more of the stack trace.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: host mulitple sites within folders and non default iis port number

I closed all browsers and cleared all cookies. Navigated straight to the sub folder portal site (http://192.168.11.29:8050/pomxportal/default.aspx), and tried to login with the admin@admin.com account and still received the same message. Here is the stack:

Right, so the problem only occurs after you login correct?

Re: host mulitple sites within folders and non default iis port number

Ok, as I said I encountered this issue yesterday and its fixed in our source code repository so it will be fixed in the next release.

The fix was simply an issue resolving the url like this:

lnkModuleSettings.ImageUrl = Page.ResolveUrl(WebConfigSettings.EditSettingsImage);

where previously it was like this:

lnkModuleSettings.ImageUrl = WebConfigSettings.EditSettingsImage;

so, I think you can work around it by adding this to your Web.config/user.config

<add key="EditSettingsImage" value="/Data/SiteImages/edit.gif" />

or if that does not work try

<add key="EditSettingsImage" value="http://yourrootlevelsiteroot/Data/SiteImages/edit.gif" />

where yourrootlevelsiteroot is the first site with no folder not the full site root of the folder site.

Hopefully one of those will work as a workaround. Only other options are get the latest svn trunk code and make your own build for deployment or wait for the next release which is never far away.

Hope it helps,

Joe
