Image gallery - simple folder version question

I created an Image gallery - simple folder version on a page. The thumbnails have unattractive, thick black borders on the top and bottom. What can be done to eliminate them?

Also, when I click on an image, two thumbnails appear on the left. The top one shows one image from the gallery with what appears to be 'clock hands' showing 9:00 superimposed on the image. Clicking this returns to the thumbnail view. The bottom left one is the previous image (expected) and the one on the right is the next image (also expected).  What is going on with the oddball image?

Re: Image gallery - simple folder version question

Hi Gerry,

Sorry you don't like it, it does what it does and I have no answer for you at the moment.

The folder gallery allows you to arrange images in nested folders, the clock hands are an up arrow indicating navigation to a higher folder. There is a random amalgomation of a thumbnail that indicates a folder so it shows several images of the folder.

Best,

Joe

Re: Image gallery - simple folder version question

The functionality is brilliant, but I will agree that ascetically it isn't all that pleasing. You can however change the default Black box to a more pleasing color in Web.config by changing value FolderGalleryImageBackColor and FolderGalleryImageBorderColor.

You can also add such things as a background color and margins to foldergallery class in your template's styles.css file to make it look a little more cleaner.

Re: Image gallery - simple folder version question

Having spent a few minutes wondering why this colour change was not working, I'll just add that you also need to clear out the cache, stored in Data\systemfiles\FolderGalleryCache

(and I think you meant "aesthetically"! The black background was pretty good "ascetically" ;-)
