Re: Video Streaming Module

Hi,

Its very easy to embed video widgets from YouTube and a variety of other sources. You get the embed code and and you paste it into the editor using source view toolbar button to get to raw html view. For example I posted a video of me playing guitar in my blog from my MySpace profile. Video files are large and expensive to serve so its ideal offloading the serving/storage of the video to the free services and just embedding it in your content.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Video Streaming Module

Microsoft now supports new streaming features in IIS, would be nice to support them

Also interesting is FlowPlayer (http://flowplayer.org/), opensource flash-based player

Of course could use Silverlight too (best to have both)

It's not always an option to host your videos elsewhere, some organizations want to have tighter control on their content and central management (plus web services used to come and go in the past, you never know)

Re: Video Streaming Module

I think I've suggested as a feature before, but a video gallery (or extension of photo gallery to also support videos [extract their thumbs and play them when shown]) is needed I think.

I can contribute some code to embed WMP and QuickTime players if needed
