Joe, you are on to something that could be really BIG

Joe, I think mojoportal is a "sleeper".. a hidden gem that has not even come close to reaching its potential.  I have been searching for something like this for years..  It's C#, ASP.net, has Microsoft behind it's internals.  It's elegant, well architected, I can go on..  I didn't like Wordpress (it's PHP), or DotNetNuke (VB)... and the other CMS's were proprietary and would nickle and dime me to death.

I am involved in starting up several web businesses that I'm currently looking to use this as a platform for.  My longer term consideration would be the financial survivability of mojoportal's code and support.  If I'm going to make a substantial investment of my time, money, and business partners as well, I would like to know what I can do to assure this codebase can survive.

Please let me know what I can do to promote these concerns, other than send you money, which I will as well, but my donations won't be enough to promote this on the level I think it can be capable of.  What else can be done to turn this into a very long term and stable endeavor?

Rob

Re: Joe, you are on to something that could be really BIG

Hi Rob,

Thanks for your nice compliments!

I've been at this for almost 5 years already (full time for the last 2.5 years) and I can assure you I'm in it for the long haul. My strategy is to make enough on add on products to sustain myself and provide me the freedom to continue working on my long term vision for mojoPortal. I only have 2 products on sale right now but already sales revenue is approaching enough to cover my monthly expenses so I'm feeling very optimistic that if I can get a few more compelling add ons for sale and continue to improve the free core feature set to drive overall popularity of the project that I will be able to make a decent living and be able to continue my efforts for a long time to come.

Certainly donations are always welcome and its helpful for me if you or your customers have any need for my add on products, every purchase helps.

And of course helping spread the word is a huge help. As you say, you've been looking for something like this for a long time, I suspect there are a lot more people out there who are looking for something like this too but have not found us yet.

Best,

Joe
