Error Help

I need some help with an error on an existing site that I have recently moved to a new server.  I've searched on this site for this error but haven't seen this exact one.  I have given ASPNET full control over the directory as provided.

Basically, this error shows up when posting or editing a blog and I can't seem to correct this and could use some insight.

Here's the error:

Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\RightHope\Data\Sites\1\systemfiles\Module-1cachedependecy.config' is denied.
Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.UnauthorizedAccessException: Access to the path 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\RightHope\Data\Sites\1\systemfiles\Module-1cachedependecy.config' is denied.

ASP.NET is not authorized to access the requested resource. Consider granting access rights to the resource to the ASP.NET request identity. ASP.NET has a base process identity (typically {MACHINE}\ASPNET on IIS 5 or Network Service on IIS 6) that is used if the application is not impersonating. If the application is impersonating via <identity impersonate="true"/>, the identity will be the anonymous user (typically IUSR_MACHINENAME) or the authenticated request user.

To grant ASP.NET access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the appropriate user or group. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the boxes for the desired access.

Re: Error Help

I would delete all the files from the /Sites/1/systemfiles folder in case they have any funky attributes from the previous server, they will be re-created if the folder is writable. Then touch web.config to recycle the app and clear the cache.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Error Help

Just so I understand what you are suggesting:

1. delete all files in that folder with the questionable file

2. modify the web.config file by changing it somehow... ie.e put a space somewhere, etc...

3. relaunch the site

correct?
