Newsletter unsubscribe link behaviour

Hi,

I found the newsletters' unsubsribe links too much 'direct'.
can you add a feature to ask a confirmation before really unsubscribe the user ?

suggestion: Some sites get you on the ~/Secure/UserProfile.aspx [Newletters subscription pane] to select beetween different subscriptions.

Regards

Thomas.

Re: Newsletter unsubscribe link behaviour

Hi Thomas,

I've made a note of your request about promting the user to confirm unsubscribe. Next time I'm working on the Newsletter I will look into this. There is really a lot more left to polish that feature up, but for now other features have my attention.

suggestion: Some sites get you on the ~/Secure/UserProfile.aspx [Newletters subscription pane] to select beetween different subscriptions.

I'm not sure I understand what you are suggesting. In mojoPortal the user can already manage their newsletter subscriptions from the user profile page ~/Secure/UserProfile.aspx. There is a tab that lists all newsletters available to the user and allows them to subscribe or unsubscribe. However, if there are no newsletters available then the tab will not be shown.

Best,

Joe

Re: Newsletter unsubscribe link behaviour

Hello Joe,

I know that tab, my suggestion is that you may use this management screen to prompt the user, so that he can confirm the action, and by the way, subscribe and unsubscribe to the other newsletters.

this is just a suggestion, the real request is to add a confirmation prompt in any way you want.

Best,

Thomas.

Re: Newsletter unsubscribe link behaviour

We need to allow the user to opt out of any list without requiring them to sign in to the site. We can only use the user profile for users who do sign in.

So, on the page we link to from the email to allow opt out without signing in, we can add a button to confirm opt out but we don't want to require them to sign in to the site or put up any additional barriers to opting out of our list. We maybe could put something there to indicate that if the user wants to manage their subscriptions they can sign in and visit their profile, but it should only be informational and optional.

Best,

Joe
