Help help help! Crashed and lost a page

Hello,

I have managed to lose a page !! I had a parent page and child page, and I think I accidentally set the parent page to have the parent as the child page, which clearly it didn't like - it crashed, I re-booted my PC and now neither page is displayed in the UI!

Is there any way I can retrieve the page ? please please I hope so - spent aaages on the content this afternoon!

Thanks in advance..

Leah

Re: Help help help! Crashed and lost a page

I think you'll have to go into the database and find the row in mp_Pages for the page that was the parent, change its parentid to -1 and parent guid to empty guid 00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Help help help! Crashed and lost a page

After doing that touch the web.config to clear the cache. SiteMap ia heavily cached.

I just added logic to my copy to filter out child pages from the list of potential parent pages.

Best,

Joe

Wew, thanks Joe... saved my a**!! I refreshed the web.config and the page has re-appeared :-)

That'll teach me for being careless, anyhow... til the next time ;P

Thanks ever so much especially for responding so quickly
