mojoPortal for Commercial Applications

If I were to want to use mojoPortal in a commercial application, what license fees would be associated with that?  -Or- what fee, if any, would you like to recieve for such use?

Re: mojoPortal for Commercial Applications

While I would certainly accept and greatly appreciate any donations, there are no fees mandated by the license agreement. mojoPortal is released under the  Common Public License which in relation to commercial distribution mainly states that any commercial distributors must not introduce any liability to the authors/contributors. My statements are based on my interpretation of the license linked above, but please realize that I am not a lawyer and anything I post here should not be considered legal advice.

Re: mojoPortal for Commercial Applications

I would like to further update this post to say that mojoPortal utilizes other open source software released under their own respective licenses. You should review the credits page and the linked documents to understand their licensing.

None of the licenses that I know of except for SlickUpload has any stipulations for commercial use. For commercial use of SlickUpload please contact the author.  SlickUpload does not work in mono and is disabled by default in mojoPortal so you can still use mojoPortal for commercial purposes without using SlickUpload.

Some people mean different things when they say commercial use. Most of the issues with the GPL and LGPL have to do with distribution of the software regardless of whether it is commercial. If you are planning on re-distributing mojoportal or any of the related projects you should do your own research and/or obtain legal advice from someone qualified to give it.
