IE 7 Error

We have a portal installed on our intranet.  EVerything seems to work fine in Firefox.  However in IE 7 I get the following error when I try to reply to blogs or forum posts.

------------------------------------

Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://www.*********.com/Portal/FourmThreadView.aspx?thread=5&mid=16&pageid=12&ItemID=5.

Operation aborted

-------------------------------------

(domain omitted)

Any Ideas?

Re: IE 7 Error

It sounds like some problem with redirecting. When you post in the forums its on ForumPostEdit.aspx then after posting it redirects to ForumThreadView.aspx. So the post does get posted right? You just get this error after posting?

I will see if I can replicate the problem. Any additional info you can provide may help.
Does changing the skin have any effect on the problem?
Are you using ssl on your forums page?

Best,

Joe

Re: IE 7 Error

I would also look in the mojoportal log for anything related and see if there is better detail of the error like a stack trace, or is it only a client side error in the browser itself.

Re: IE 7 Error

I was not able to produce this problem on my local machine using IE 7.

Please let me know if you find anything related in the log, whether changing the skin affects it or any other clues you may encounter.

Best,

Joe

Re: IE 7 Error

Joe,

I can create a new forum.  I can get to the FCK editor and create the description and subject.  When I click Post, I get the error, but the post is there.  I can go back to the forum and see the topics from ForumView.aspx.  When I click on the link to view the topic I get the error on ForumThreadView.aspx.

It all work in FireFox.  I am making this post using IE so I don't think it is the browser.

There are no log entries for this error.

I was using the skin "extjs-viewport1".  I swithed to "styleshout-techmania" and it does not happen.

This point to the skin as the problem??

Re: IE 7 Error

I will investigate this and see if I can produce the error using that skin and IE 7. I'll ost again after I have time to try it.

Best,

Joe

Re: IE 7 Error

I was able to reproduce this problem using that skin. I've fixed it this morning. The fix will be in svn trunk soon and will be in the next release.

Thanks,

Joe
