Google's Mobile Algorithm Update: My site is failing mobile friendly test

Hi,

I have built my site using mojoPortal. My site is responsive. Please note we have not used mobile kit pro but have done CSS changes to make complete responsive site. Even though site was visible properly on mobile but it was failing Google's mobile friendly test which I performed using Google's tool https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/mobile-friendly/ .

We have never modified robot.txt file. When I checked I saw these files/folders where disallowed:

Disallow: /ClientScript/

Disallow: /*.csshandler.ashx
Disallow: /*.csshandler.ashx$
Disallow: /*.csshandler.ashx*

So I had to remove these files/folders from robots.txt and had to allow Google bots to crawl and access these.

Now it is working fine but just want to make sure it will not effect anything else.

Thanks,

Mahua Banerjee

Re: Google's Mobile Algorithm Update: My site is failing mobile friendly test

that should be fine.

In fact google changed their advice last fall and now they recommend allow search bots to crawl css and javascript, so I will remove those from our copy of robots.txt for the next release of mojoPortal which is coming soon.
