Form wizard pro compability

Hi,

I have purchased a license for Form Wizard Pro, but it's a while ago and now I want to use it. Is there somewhere, where I can see which versions are compatible with releases of mojoportal? And can older versions be downloaded?

We have several sites at different versions of Mojoportal. The one in mind right now is running mojoportal 2.3.9.6 MySQL and our wizard installed is 2.6.0.9. I'm getting some errors, so I wondered if the versions don't match.

Best regards

Lars

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Hi again,

Sorry for the confusion. I found the history compability list under the Form wizard documentation. And I also found the reason for my error. It was due to some old stuff from when I originally experienced with setting up the form. After erasing it all everything works fine.

Working fine - as everything else in this great MojoPortal product :)

Best regards

Lars

Re: Form wizard pro compability

OK - I was too fast to tell everything was ok.

Now I get this error when trying to show the page with a Form Wizard Pro on:

Could not load type 'mojoPortal.Data.SqlParameterHelper' from assembly 'mojoPortal.Data, Version=1.0.4814.22723, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'. at sts.FormWizard.Data.DBWebForm.GetOne(Guid guid) at sts.Business.WebForm.GetWebForm(Guid guid) at sts.Business.WebForm..ctor(Guid guid) at sts.Business.WebForm.GetByModule(Module module) at sts.FormWizard.Web.UI.FormWizardModule.LoadSettings() at sts.FormWizard.Web.UI.FormWizardModule.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

I can access the settings, but not show or edit the content. Any ideas what to look for?

Best regards

Lars

Re: Form wizard pro compability

You need to install the MySql data layer dll for Form Wizard Pro from the /DataLayers folder in the package

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Hi Lars,

You mentioned having several sites with different installations of mojoPortal at different versions.

However my records show that you have a Single Installation License of Form Wizard Pro purchased in 2010.

While my products have no locks to prevent it, it is a violation of the license to use it in multiple installations. You should either purchase a license for each installation or purchase a Server License to support multiple installations on one server or an Enterprise License to support multiple installations on multiple servers. Or only use the product in one installation.

Best Regards,

Joe

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Hi Joe,

Sure. I just meant I have several different mojoportal versions and got confused about which fit to which Form wizard versions. I have never used it for real, but tried it for a short period on one of my sites. Now I'm considering it for the same site, but after several mojoportal upgrades.

I do believe if I get it to work, that I want to extend for at least one site more, but then - of course - I will buy an additional license. First, though, I want to make it work on the one I mentioned the versions for.

Do you know of where I should look for solving the problem? Or do you believe it's better once for all to upgrade both the mojoportal and the form wizard to latest version to make it work?

Thanks

Lars

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Hi Lars,

I always think it is best to use the latest versions of both mojoPortal and the add on features.

I already posted the answer to the latest error you posted. It is an error about MS SQL but you are using MySql so to solve the error you need to install the correct sts.FormWizard.Data.dll for MySql. You will find it in the /DataLayers/mysql folder of the  Form Wizard Pro package.

Best,

Joe

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Thanks, Joe

I didn't help with the dll file, but I then did a full upgrade to latest versions and now it works. So now I can start testing the wizard for permanent use.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Hi again,

I just wanted to add that it really works well now. We are already receiving forms from our customers and the Form Wizard Pro is highly customizable.

If we later extend to more than one website using it, I will happily pay another license - it's really valuable.

Thanks again

Re: Form wizard pro compability

Just to update: Today I bought another license for using Form Wizard Pro on a second site.

Thanks again

Lars
