Sorry but no, the end date is the end of the content availability it will not be shown if someone visits the url for the post that is what it is for.

If you want older posts to still be available then you should not use an end date.

If you want older posts to drop off the list sooner then I would use a smaller page size in Settings > List View Settings

Note that the archive links are just linking to the list with parameters for the date so items must still exist in the list to be available but a smaller page size will help them go off of the first page of the list sooner depending on the frequency of newer posts.
