Welcome to mojoPortal Setup

Probing system...
File system permissions ok.
MSSQL database connection ok.
database permissions are sufficient to alter schema.
database initial schema already exists.
database core schema needs upgrade.

Note: This page shows some information that is helpful during setup and upgrades but for security it would be best not to show any information when the system is up to date. You can disable setup and suppress all information on this page by setting DisableSetup=true in Web.config. When you need to upgrade, you can set this back to false. If you are logged in as Administrator setup will run and you will be able to see this page even if it is disabled in Web.config so you can easily leave it disabled and just login before upgrading. But if you are not logged in you will need to enable setup in Web.config.

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

I think you are leaving out some information, ie possibly your have deployed your own modified build that you made from source code, possibly you have done something with the database like copy the objects to a new db instead of doing a real backup and restore. Possibly some database objects are missing or have incorrect permissions.

How the setup works:

1. It looks to see if the mp_Site table exists, if so it knows it is an upgrade not a new installation

2. It checks for the current version in mp_SchemaVersion table this info tells it which upgrade script to start with so that it only runs newer scripts. This is the step where it is going wrong so maybe the table is missing

Even on a new installation it should start with script version 2.3.4.8, not 2.2.1.9

It should never run script version 2.2.1.9 unless you are really upgrading from a version that is about 5 years old. So something is wrong about your database before it tries to upgrade. I would first look to see if the mp_SchemaVersion and mp_SchemaScriptHistory tables exist and what data is in them if they do exist.

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

What is the data in mp_SchemaVersion for the mojoportal-core row?

Are you sure the database user in your connection string is a dbo? (database owner) if not then the user does not see that table and it could cause this problem.

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

please tell me what all the other rows in mp_SchemaVersion have?

also do ALL of the tables have the dbo prefix or not?

On this site to be logged in the url must start with https, cookies are not passed in the headers unless it is a secure request therefore you appear to be not legged in if you use an url with only http

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm sorry your site is down but that is not my responsibility. You should backup your entire site and database before upgrading, especially before upgrading from a 5 year old version. That way you can restore the site as it was if something goes wrong.

Here is what I would do if I were you.

1. Make sure you are using MS SQL 2005 or higher, we dropped supprt for SQL 2000 after mojoPortal version 2.3.4.5

2. Try to run this script manually from SQL Query analyzer

/Setup/applications/mojoportal-core/SchemaUpgradeScripts/mssql/2.2.1.9.config

If it still gives errors then chop out tha perts that are trying to drop existing stored procs and drop the ones it is trying to drop manually, then see if it can run the rest of the script.

Once you get that script to run then update the mojoportal-core row in mp_SchemaVersion to 2.2.1.9 and try to use the setup page to run the rest of the upgrade scripts.

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

I'm sorry but what you are telling me makes no sense at all.

If you were upgrading from 2.3.5.4 it would already have 2.3.5.4 for mojoportal-core in the mp_SchemaVersion table

This is why I suspect you have been leaving out information or giving me false answer to the questions I've asked you. You are either not correctly restoring the database or doing something to make the database in a strange state that makes these errors happen when trying to upgrade.

If the site was really at version 2.3.5.4 and the database user is dbo and the tables and procedures all have the dbo prefix, then the mp_SchemaVersion table would already have mojoportal-core as version 2.3.5.4 and the setup page would start upgrading with script version 2.3.5.6 not with script 2.2.1.9

If you site was really at version 2.2.1.8 then it would still need to run the same upgrade scripts to upgrade to version 2.3.5.4.

you should not manually change the version in the database unless you manually are able to run the script from query analyzer with no errors, if you run the script manually then you must update the version of mojoportal-core in mp_SchemaVersion to match the script version

You are either leaving out information about what you did to the database (ie if you restored it how you restored it) or you are not giving truthfull answers to the questions I asked you in trying to figure out what is wrong in your database. I cannot help to solve the problem without complete and accurate information.

You also have not mentioned what version of SQL Server you are using. At minimum it must be SQL 2005 with all the service paks installed or higher.

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

HI JOE

i am very sorry to i cannot resolve this with your kindly helps

my sql is 2005 workgroup with latest updates and servis paks and all tabels have .dbo prefix

at mojoportal core at mp_schemaversion table is 2.2.1.8

but at mojo admin panel(system information) shows mojoprtla version 2.3.5.4

and i tested (at backup recovered to new database at other domain for test )at sql manager manualy. query of 2.2.1.9 was not worked and want error

but i manualy changed mojoportal core mp_schemaversion manualy to 2.3.5.4 and  quserys of 2.3.5.5 and next releases changed database successfully

i think my portal is at version 2.3..5.4 but mp_schemaversion is not update my for some error at last update?

i copyed 2.3.5.5 to Setup\applications\mojoportal-core\SchemaUpgradeScripts\mssql then i run setup but after setup shows mojoportal is updated to 2.3.5.4

now i most? try to upgrade with copy and replace all files of mojoportal 2.3.9.3 to root then change mojoportal-core schemaversion manualy to 2.3.5.4 then run setup like your setup help or most change version of other modules to?

for test i recovered database and files from backup at other domain but for run redirected to my source domain?

thanks

mohsen

Re: upgrade errorrrrrrrrrrrrr

at mojoportal core at mp_schemaversion table is 2.2.1.8

but at mojo admin panel(system information) shows mojoprtla version 2.3.5.4

That does not make sense, the grid in the system information page that shows the versions is populated from the mp_SchemaVersion table so it cannot show something different than what the table shows.

Maybe you are looking in the wrong database

I don't have any further suggestions since your system is in a state that is unknown to me
