restore users by sql

Hi to all,

I do have one site in production and one (same technology, sql fulltrusted)  for development proposals...

Key users update the second site and wants than I "copy" the wole site to the production one, which I will perform with a full backup and restore of the entire db, keeping aligned the skins and the media folder on the two sites

But on production site I got constantly new users registrated.. and they will be lost with a backup/restore operation

What can I do ?? tables intersted are mp_users and mp_userroles ?? what happens with guid values ? .. or is there a better way to do it ?

Thank you so much in advance

Re: restore users by sql

The recommendation is always that you should restore from production to development, not the other way around. If you don't want the updates being shown until they are all ready, I recommend using the Content Workflow system to enter updates in draft mode on the production site, then approve all of the changes when you're ready to go live.

Development should really be reserved for skin and feature custom development, testing, and training.
