Each item purchased contributes $5 to the mojoPortal project.

Unfortunately, the prices at CafePress are rather high, we've set the price of items at $5 above what they charge us. If you don't know what CafePress is, they are basically a site that lets you upload artwork and create a "Store". You can define all kinds of products using your artwork, like t-shirts, mugs, mouse pads, etc and they have operations to produce the merchandise on the fly. That is, they don't keep inventory of t-shirts with your artwork silkscreened, they print a shirt when the order comes in, same with mugs and all their products, they produce it on demand. They handle the shipping and ecommerce and it costs you $5/month to have a store (or they have a very limited free store). I imagine that a lot of their business is just poeple wanting to make their own custom one off products for themselves and very few of the "Stores" move a lot of product, so they charge a bit more because even with automated processes its still slows you down if you only produce one offs. If you start moving a lot of product I imagine you begin to get better negotiations on the cost. Maybe we should reduce our markup to 0 and just be glad anyone wants to buy a shirt and maybe wear it, since the cost is so high. Let me know what you think.
