It's been a few months since we've sent a newsletter, a busy summer has flown by and now we're enjoying open windows and cool fall air here at mojoPortal headquarters.
We've actually shipped two releases of mojoPortal since our last newsletter. mojoPortal 2.3.9.8 was released on July 29, 2013, and we just released mojoPortal 2.3.9.9, September 19, 2013.
These were minor releases with a lot of little improvements and bug fixes thanks to feedback from our active community forum members.

Fund Raiser Pro Available Now!

Most of our effort over the summer has gone into building Fund Raiser Pro, a fundraising/crowdfunding solution for mojoPortal CMS. Maybe you need to raise money for a charity organization or good cause, or for a new gym for your school, or maybe your band wants to raise money from fans to record their next album. These are the kinds scenarios that Fund Raiser Pro was built for. Is has similar functionality to sites like kickstarter and indigogo but with you in full control. You can set a target date for your fundraising goal and if you need to extend the date later you can. You can post a links to your Fund Raiser Pro page on Facebook and Twitter to drive traffic to your site and promote your campaign or project.
You can accept donations using your PayPal account and/or any of the other payment gateways supported by mojoPortal.

Form Wizard Pro 2.6.1.2 Released!
|
|
We also released a small update to Form Wizard Pro, our essential add on for easy custom forms and simple surveys. This update adds support for grouping items in the dropdownlist question type (also known as "Choose from a list" questions). This is a free update for existing customers who already purchased Form Wizard Pro, but it does require upgrading to the latest version of mojoPortal.

New and Updated Articles

Each month we continue to fill in some gaps in our documentation and update some documents that were out of date and no longer accurate. Below are links for some of the new and updated articles.
Arvixe Web Hosting is our top financial contributor to the mojoPortal project. They provide us with a dedicated server for running our site, a very generous affiliate program only available to open source projects, and they also sponsor members of our community as liaisons to help out in general in our forums and especially to help out if anyone has problems with their hosting at Arvixe. If you click one of our Arvixe ads and then purchase hosting and keep it for at least 60 days we get a very generous contribution from Arvixe no matter how low the hosting cost is to you. We think Arvixe is one of the best large shared hosting providers around. If you need hosting click one of our ads and give them a try, by doing so you will also be helping the mojoPortal project.
For those who would rather have someone else handle all the technical details of their hosting including installation, configuration, and upgrades of mojoPortal, we recommend i7MEDIA. You can let them handle all the technical details so you can focus on your site content. Joe Davis of i7MEDIA is our Community Manager, an expert in all things mojo and an all around helpful guy that you can count on.

Since it is such a big source of downloads for us, reviews there are probably the most helpful, and ratings and reviews on our Codeplex download page are also very helpful for promoting the project. We don't have much of a marketing budget so we really depend on grass roots promotion and your help is greatly appreciated.
