IIS Error 500.19

Hello everyone.

I am installing Mojoportal leatest version for ASP NET 40. DB MS SQL service is not activated yet. I just uploaded the files required. In the meanwhile there was a temporary little CMS page made by me.

http://www.ccv-mi.org

Once I uploaded all the stuff, the server answered the 500.19 error to any port 80 request. "Bad configuration. I realized that is the web.config file in the root that is not liked much by the server.

If I delete this file... the temporary page is running fine.If I upload the web.config files wainting for the ISP to activated the DB service, the ISP web server gives back an error of configuration.

My question :

Is it compulsory upload web.config (by Mojoportal) as the very last action before launching installation process?

Error :

Many thanks to whom might help me.

Alessandro

Re: IIS Error 500.19

OK.

Now it is everything fine. I asked to my Hosting Service Provider which version of ASP NET was intalled on the server. I was told 4.0, but the web server configuration default was 3.5....

so that's why it was not working.

From the panel I switched from 3.5 to 4.0 and now everything is fine.

Misunderstanding configuration error!

Alex

Re: IIS Error 500.19

It looks to me like you uploaded the mojoPortal package for .NET 4.0 but your site is configured for .NET 3.5. You need to configure your site with a .NET 4 application pool to make it use .NET 4.

See the 10th and 11th items in our FAQ

Hope that helps,

Joe

Re: IIS Error 500.19

Hello Joe,

thank you for your quick answer. I was based myself on the answer received and did not checked the actual server configuration...

Have a nice WE
