additional Admin Accounts in Users

Hello,

I'm running on 2.3.5.3 MSSQL multi site mode. I looked in my mp_Users table and noticed a bunch (17) of Admin users that I was unaware of in the db.  They don't show up in the Users List in the Admin Panel.  They appear to be dummy accounts (admin18@admin.com, admin19@admin.com, etc).  There is no activity history or logins.  The site passwords are hashed, but these passwords are the default non-hashed passwords and can't be used to login.

I'm just wondering if anyone has noticed the same thing happening, and if it's anything to be concerned about.  The accounts seem to be created randomly on different days and I can't see any apparent pattern.

Thanks,

Beth

Re: additional Admin Accounts in Users

When you create new sites and are using "Related Sites Mode", it creates these admin users just in case you ever change it back to not using Related Sites Mode, otherwise if you did that, there would be no admin user. You can safely delete those users from the db if you want to, they won't come back on their own but each time you create a new site it will create a new one for that site, so if you don't want it there in the database you would have to delete it again after each new site is created.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: additional Admin Accounts in Users

Hi Joe,

Thanks for the explanation; it makes perfect sense, as I have 19 sites and had 19 admin accounts in the db :-D  Glad to know it's nothing to worry about.

Best,

Beth
