Upgrading mojoPortal via Web Platform Installer

Vista

SQL Server 2008

mojoPortal v2.3.5.5

I have just installed mojoPortal 2.3.5.5 on my local Vista machine through the Web Platform Installer to test mojoPortal. Everything is working very nicely and the install was easy. Now I want to upgrade to 2.3.5.8. Is it possible to use the Web Platform Installer to upgrade mojoPortal? What I mean is, if I get mojoPortal through the Web Platform Installer again will it know to upgrade and not do a new install?

Excuse the double post, mistakenly aslo posted under Installing via WPI.

Re: Upgrading mojoPortal via Web Platform Installer

Vista, SQL Server 2008, mojoPortal 2.3.5.5

Thanks Jamie and Joe for your reply under thread "Installing via WPI". Unfortunately, I didn't wait long enough for Joe's reply and did try to upgrade mojoPortal via WPI. Per Jamie's yes answer to the question if I could upgrade from 2.3.5.5. to 2.3.5.8  via WPI. Well, the installer tried to upgrade and I didn't get any errors but now I don't have the site UI (Skin) that I selected in Administration. When I go to administration to reselect the skin I get an error that "url is null or not an object". I am going to try the manual upgrade per Joe's reply and hope that will correct everything. My question is: Do you think I hosed up the site trying to use the WPI to upgrade? This is all still test on my local computer so I would not be devastated if I had to delete the site and db and start over. I really like mojoPortal and you guys are great at replying to questions. I am a long time .NET developer and just need to learn the details of mojoPortal before I start deploying live sites. Thank You.

I apologize for my faulty reply, Wendell. I hope that Joe can help you out with this one. I'm going to redact my reply in the original thread.
