Popup Error on Skin Preview and File Manager

Hi.. first post... hope you can help.  You have a nice clean looking CMS product.

My installation seem to go smooth, but I have 2 glitches.

When I went to change/browse my skin, I get an HTTP 500 error on the popup screen.  I get the same error when I click on File Manager.

I'm running 2.3.5.1.net35 mssql.  I did a download, then unzip, move to virtual dir, modify the user.config, and also added full control permissions for ASPNET user on the \Data folder and below.  I do run other ASP.NET apps in other virtual directories, but not at the root level.  I have tried this popup on both IE7 and IE8, but I still get an HTTP 500 error. Oh.. also.. running on Win2003 with IIS6 set to ASP.NET v2.0 with 3,3,5,and 4 installed.

Do you have some additional tips or tricks to get this popup to work ?

Thanks Much.

Re: Popup Error on Skin Preview and File Manager

Hi,

Can you go to Administration > System Log

Clear the log, it will have a lot of errors logged from the installation, then go cause the error with the skin preview and the error with the file manager, then go back to the log and copy the errors and post them here.

Best,

Joe

Re: Popup Error on Skin Preview and File Manager

Hi.. ok.. I cleared the log, but I can't get any errors to generate in the System Log.

However.. when I click on the arrow to go to the next skin, in the lower left hand corner I see...

res://ieframe.dll/http_500.htm.

Oh..by the way.. on your demo site, the popup works good.

Thats all I can see.

Paul.

Re: Popup Error on Skin Preview and File Manager

Never seen that before, but googling it, it sounds like it could be caused by an unpatched computer or a virus or a variety of other issues

Re: Popup Error on Skin Preview and File Manager

Joe,  Thanks for the lead... i'm still working this... I tried mojo portal on a plain Win XP machine with IIS loaded, and the file manager and skin preview worked perfectly.  but on this Win2003 server, i'm still struggeling.

I feel that there is some permissions type error, or possibly our anti viurs software.  I have given full permission to that \Data folder, but still no luck.  On our server we are running MacAfee Enterprise.  I'm pretty sure our servers patches are up to date also.

I turned off the friendly errors on my PC and got the error below... can you give some additional guidence based on this new detail ?  Is there possibly a policy or IIS setting that is causing this ?

Active Server Pages error 'ASP 0138'

Nested Script Block

/HRISHome/ClientScript/greybox/loader_frame.html, line 8

A script block cannot be placed inside another script block.

Thanks, Paul.

Re: Popup Error on Skin Preview and File Manager

That is very strange since it is a Classic ASP error not an ASP.NET error. All I can guess is that you have the site also configured for classic ASP and maybe even handling .html files with Classic ASP. So if ASP is handling requests for .html files then it could cause this error. It is not an ASP.NET error. Googling the error find this among other things:

http://classicasp.aspfaq.com/general/why-do-i-get-asp-0138-errors.html

It must be some unusual configuration on your win2003 IIS

Hope it helps,

Joe
