forum adding/deleting

If I have created several forums on one page, is there a way to delete individual forums and/or move them to other pages?

Re: forum adding/deleting

The forum instances on a page will behave like any other feature. You can delete one in settings (to get to settings, use the "settings" link, or the wrench icon, depending on the skin). To move it to another page, use the "parent page" drop-down in settings (general tab). If you want to change position on the page, select the "Edit this page" link and use the arrows to move it between the available panes.

Re: forum adding/deleting

i can edit the settings like that if i create a new page for each forum... but if i create one forum page, then add several forums, i cant figure out how to delete individual ones without deleting the page (which deletes all the forums) and then starting over.

Currently, i am still in the process of setting up my site, so i am going back in and re-creating each forum on it's own page (under parent forum pages) in order to not have that problem - but i would like to know if there is a way to delete individual forum rooms...

thanks :)

Re: forum adding/deleting

Okay, I hadn't actually gone into the forum feature in detail, but I just played around with it on demo.mojoportal.com. I added a Forums feature to a new page, then edited that feature and added two forum instances within it ("General discussion", and "Help requests"). Each of those forum instances has its own edit link, and within each of those edit links, there is a button at the bottom labeled "Delete this item". When I clicked that button for "Help requests", it removed it, but left "General discussion" alone. Is that what you are trying to do?

Here are the steps I followed, in detail:

  1. Added forums feature to a new page
  2. Viewed page
  3. Clicked Add Forum/Pencil icon for the forum feature
  4. Title = "General discussion", click Create New Forum button
  5. Clicked Add Forum/Pencil icon for the forum feature
  6. Title = "Help requests", click Create New Forum button - Now, there are two forum instances within the Forums feature on the page
  7. Click the Edit Forum/Pencil icon for the "Help requests" forum.
  8. Click the "Delete this item" button at the bottom - Now, there is one forum instance within the Forums feature on the page

I hope this helped.

Jamie
