Tims Zone Set in Profile but show wrong TZ on View

Hi,

I have installed your portal and love it... so easey thanks for a great product.

I have a question, not sure its a bug!

When I (or users) set their TimeZone on their Profile page and then View the page or if I View from the Member List page it is always set to EST (the server is on the East Coast).

Is this correct?

Is there a method of allowing the users selection (where they are located) to be displayed insted of the Server Location?

Running on a Windows server
Mojo Portal version - 2 3 4 3
MS-SQL database

Thanks

Re: Tims Zone Set in Profile but show wrong TZ on View

Hi,

In 2.3.4.3 we introduced a new and better timezone system, however I missed a few places that needed to be updated to the new logic. Most of these should be fixed in version 2.3.4.4, but possibly there are still a few places where I have not updated it. Please upgrade to the new version, then if you see dates that do not adjust to your timezone specified in user profile, let me know exactly what feature or page where it is not correct so I can fix it.

Thanks,

Joe

Re: Tims Zone Set in Profile but show wrong TZ on View

Thanks,  I had downloaded 2.3.4.4 and expanded it to my local drive.  My server company doesn't allow for expanding .ZIP files on the server so I have to do it locally the copy them all over to the server.

My questiopn now is that "Should I copy ALL the files from the expanded .ZIP file?"  OR "What files should I NOT copy so I retain all the current settings and pages and database"?

Thanks

Re: Tims Zone Set in Profile but show wrong TZ on View

Hi,

Before you do anything, create a backup of your database and your files.

Considering you are using MSSQL, you don't have worry about your database and the pages are contained within the database.

If you made any changes to your web.config, make a note of the changes and merge them into the new web.config.

After merging your web.config changes with the news web.config, you can safely upload all of the files to your host. You can skip copying the \data\skins directory and then only copy them later if you want them. I suggest using FileZilla as it provides an easy to use process for re-queuing files that didn't upload successfully.

Once the files are uploaded, browse to /Setup/default.aspx in your web browser.

HTH,
Joe D.

Thanks I did the upgrade and the only message that I have not looked up yet is that the DataBase can be upgraded.  Now the Local Time for each person, thanks.

Re: Tims Zone Set in Profile but show wrong TZ on View

If the setup page says it needs a database upgrade then it means you did not upload all the scripts under the /Setup folder. Try uploading that folder again and visit setup page, if the scripts exist on disk it will run them instead of saying it needs to upgrade.

Hope it helps,

Joe

Re: Tims Zone Set in Profile but show wrong TZ on View

Hi Joe,

Once again I thank you.  I am not sure what got missed during the Copy process but this time it all worked and I got no errors or Upgrade requests.

Thanks
